DITE-AFRICAAfrican Science Technology and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) initiatives training workshops in Congo DRC (10 - 11 March) and Zambia (20 - 21 March 2023), supported by NEPAD, UNESCO, and AOSTI). Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) indicators are critical in monitoring Africa's scientific and technological development. These indicators are useful for formulating, adjusting, and implementing technology and innovation policies and strategies. Indicators can also be used to monitor global technological trends, conduct foresight exercises, and determine specific areas of investment.  
ECA Climate Adaptation Hackathon: received more than 90 applications from young African innovators and tech enthusiasts. The recent edition in Niamey (2023) featured 25 pilots aimed at building climate resilience and adaptation. The solutions explored geo-mapping services for efficient garbage collection and recycling, drones and AI for smart agriculture, and mobile apps supporting farmers and extension workers among others.
